#1 Bedtown in Tokyo Pocket size packs of kleenex are commonly distributed on the street with publicity printed. Just like this advertisement method, I handed out pieces of my doodle-like drawings to people passing by. Some were pleased to take and brought them home, others were embarrassed and declined to receive. Some school kids took them cheerfully but later threw them away when absorbed in playing. Watching the variety of their reaction showed against my performance, I wondered what makes people distinguish artworks from rubbish. |
